i just migrated back to dreamwidth because livejournal began to block their own users from accessing our own pages
we are a technology at war, and i don't see any simple solutions
the landscape is changing too fast for me as a user to keep up with it but this is of course what 'they' want, is to confuse the hell out of us until we give up LJ is now fully russian and excluding international users by way of their government bank controlled Sber ID to pay or update or register LJ is no longer welcoming foreigners a handful of us that hung on til now are blocked from commenting to friends welcome to the gulag of the internet
https://pigshitpoet.livejournal.com/
we are in a digital prison now dreamwidth appears to be the last bastion for free bloggers social media is too busy and chaotic i think i'm done with digital media going back to being human
cheers

Floriography, or the language of flowers, is a cryptological method of communication using flowers and floral arrangements to convey coded messages, particularly during the Victorian era.

Many plants serve as powerful cultural symbols, representing a wide range of values and emotions:

* Rose: Universally symbolizes love and passion, especially the red rose in Western traditions, with roots tracing back to Roman mythology and Venus.

* Lily: The white lily represents purity and innocence, a meaning codified in the Victorian era and linked to Christian iconography and the Virgin Mary.

* Lotus: A profound symbol of purity, enlightenment, and rebirth in Eastern traditions like Buddhism and Hinduism, representing spiritual awakening rising from muddy waters.

* Oak: Embodies strength, wisdom, and endurance, associated with Zeus and Jupiter in Greco-Roman mythology and revered in Celtic traditions.

* Sunflower: Symbolizes happiness, loyalty, and adoration, its face turning toward the sun representing the pursuit of light and positivity.

* Cherry Blossom (Sakura): In Japanese culture, it signifies the ephemeral nature of life, beauty, and renewal, celebrated during the spring hanami festivals.

* Bamboo: In Chinese and Japanese cultures, it represents integrity, resilience, and flexibility, admired for its ability to bend without breaking.

* Willow: Often linked to grief and mourning, especially in Western cemeteries, but also symbolizes flexibility and resilience due to its supple branches.

* Ivy: Represents loyalty, friendship, and eternal life, its clinging nature symbolizing enduring connection and devotion.

* Cypress: A traditional symbol of mourning and eternal life, commonly planted in Mediterranean and Christian cemeteries.

These plants form a small part in a “language of flowers” (floriography) used historically to convey complex feelings and are still prevalent in art, literature, and rituals today.

Roses have many symbolic meanings in chivalrye and charity:

* Red Roses: Passion, romantic love, and desire.

* White Roses: Virtue, chastity, and innocence.

* Yellow Roses: Friendship, devotion, or infidelity (depending on the context).

* Black Roses: Death, darkness, or hatred.

Two of the most commonly seen plant symbols which endure beyond romance are the laurel and the olive.

Laurel:

Symbolises male energy, victory, and action. It is linked to Apollo and the laurel wreath awarded at the Pythian Games. In the 4th degree (Secret Master), it signifies the hopeful expectation of success and victory over the passions.

Olive:

Symbolises female energy, peace, and stillness. It is associated with the goddess Athena and the olive wreath awarded at the Olympic Games. The olive branch, often depicted with a dove, is a universal emblem of peace.

Forgive, love, heal in community.
Am I... nothing?
All the more power to you.
You can’t be your own best friend. You need friends to hold you.
The enemy is real. His every word is just a lie,
that love is conditional.
Control, approval; However...
We love because God’s Love is unconditional ! Open arms..
He shall hold a feast, in the presence of your enemies
The devil is real; the devil is evil
Tell him something he well knows
Tell the enemy to go to hell.
This disarms the enemy.
Blinded by hindsight, Covid 20/20 the tide turns
His Love is unbelievable! Lord, I believe. Please help my unbelief.
Confess to one another.
Pray for each other. You may be healed. You are not alone.

Do you speak multi-cultural-ism?
Thick accents of miscreants,
Survivors of the last flood
Of mixed diverse, immigrants
Delegations of new life!
All wanting
Wandering immigrants
All speaking in tongues,
From the great fall of Babylon –
Babylon, O Babylon!
Why must you linger on?
Babel on… –
Not to sound ungrateful,
But I beg to differ, and defer to lesion
In this got verboten treason,
For there no longer is legion,
In this fatally broken system.
We have been thrown into chaos by great division,
The left brain can’t tell what the right is saying,
And visa verse, the right doesn’t know
What the left is thinking. Suddenly,
A world without cohesion
All we have left to go on is feelings
Not to sound ungrateful, but
This is a new world without reason
We linger in fashion lingo,
All speaking in their own mother tongue
With their distinct accents and dialects,
This feudal collection of lost immigrants,
Refugees from a former era, and area of dissemination.
O, the humanity of it all!
All the ancient cities now bundled into one.
Doesn’t anyone speak English here anymore? psp

Scattered between devices,
I am left to my own devises.
Somewhere in the windmills
Of my mind, nobody cares,
Or shall I say, no one even knows
That I exist. Even the cloud with
It’s myriad of collective data
Even knows where it is.
It’s all hidden from us.
By keen oversight
Of an over ambitious pet project.
You need an interpreter to decipher
The bytes and the bits, I am remnant
Living here on the edge
Of this dystopic cardio-village
New feudal kingdoms
Owned by this evil
Hideous strength
Operated by a hive humanity.
Who blindly follow the task(s) given them,
Each a useless eater or useful idiot.
The collective sees us as cattle or slaves.
Meritocracy, social media,
At best if you even exist, a widget
And you are simply a digit in the equation
If you even rate.
There are names for this,
Outlander, eccentric, or prescient,
Idiot savant, or geniuses,
Step up and be displayed
When you figure out how to manipulate IT.

A friend told me, “You shouldn’t waste your time
Thinking about this”. The problem is, I wrote it psp

Where have you been?

I tried Substack for a week, did a couple posts, checked out the algorithm, decided I don’t like the platform. It’s populated by journalists and self-predictive intellectuals, who post interesting stuff, much of it political, but there is slowly other categories building up. Too-much-information !! Imagine X or Facebook on hyper speed, like some quantum computer running centuries of data through a single thread. I can’t read, write, or think that fast. I guess it’s not for me. I want to be with common people instead. Not strangers, scientists, journalists, researchers, professional photographers. Nor low brow, or white trash, but sensitive, thoughtful, interesting people like I once found on Livejournal. I'm not into any of that. I’ve yet to find that here on Dreamwidth. Only a few who strayed over from LJ are here on Dreamwidth. No one new to speak of yet. No true DW’s, only 'myth'ers. What do I mean by that? People who are only ghosts of themselves, and haven’t yet fully developed or embraced the platform seriously. I wonder what the demographic is here on DW. Or did I just describe it ? Well, no matter. It is what it is, and things being as they are, I feel most comfortable posting my notes here. The only other platform I can think of at all similar would be Wordpress. But it lacks the html simplicity we have here. If that changes, then I may go there. For now, I guess I drop my bags and settle here.

Weekly Update.. (Not for the faint of heart)
Monday I ended up in hospital emergency with a blocked bladder. Man, did I find the wrong door to walk in to.

If you think electric shock in your face from trigeminal neuralgia TGN is painful, you should try get a rubber catheter hose excruciatingly shoved up your dick. They said it would feel “uncomfortable” temporarily. Yeah? If this is uncomfortable, I can’t imagine their definition for painful !! Excruciating. Torture. Beyond words. It caused me to bleed from my penis. I felt exhausted, traumatized, and intimidated just from the insertion procedure. I was a wreck. It also can cause infection if left in too long or irritation from the bag you drainage drag around tied to your leg. No fun. I had no pain per se until then. Removing it also hurt. When they removed it in 2 days to see if I could urinate, I was so agitated, I was unable to urinate, so they said I needed to have the catheter again, and bag on my leg. And stay in the hospital a week to see if they could figure out what was causing my inability to urinate. Upon trying to insert the hose again, I screamed, I can’t do this. I refuse to do this. They stopped and said I could go home. So I did.

Getting fucked on both ends. Is so traumatic. I think I now have PTSD. Truly, I would compare it to EST. Or a lobotomy, without anesthetic. Yikes!

Ronald as a Dame

Bitter old wrinkled woman, scrutinizes… everything
Sits and stares into space, barely wondering, barely noticing,
Anything that does not coincide with her long memory,
Failing eyesight, or loss of hearing,
Lovely lady, walks with a cane
How young is she?
Possibly ninety-eight? Two lifetimes ago, is there anything
She hasn’t seen, she has slowly been accustom to change
Well accustomed, maybe over presuming,
One needs to unlock her ancient secrets,
Bitter mind, tight as a safe,
Who once might she have been?
No longer willing to touch anything,
Dying for human touch, wasting away

I have an old friend Richard
I see signs of rigidity set in
It’s not Rigor mortis,
But unwillingness to accept more change
He served in a war, lived two long lives,
Lived with the Eskimos,
Pedaling his a racing machine
Through wind and rain, raised two
Kids, when his first wife abandoned him,
Is done with reality, says the world today
Is insane, can no longer make senses of anything
No, it’s not Alzheimers, it’s long range resistance to change
To see the world he worked so hard to create, suddenly falling apart
Beginning to go down the drain, must be heart wrenching.
Refusal to take part in anything, and this could be him,
Sitting alone, ignoring the world, needing a friend yet not willing
And this could be him, aside from the obvious gender status
Looking at the world through old colored glasses, trying to forget everything
Trying to remember who and where he is, after going millions of miles,
Who cares if his only daughter associates as gay.
Who cares if we’re male or female at the end of our day?
We all identify as old, each in our own way,
So, let’s go 2+LGBTQ and sometimes Old, decrepit and old,
Those who society discards and throws away,
Once we reach that certain old age,
Unless we make centenarian
The we begin again
Like ancient peoples from a dying race,
Just hang up your shingle
“Gone fishing” ~psp

Ancient Battles

Send old men to war with their wrinklies and their warts!
With their bulging veins on those skinny legs,
With their bulging knees, and if enough
Of us stand up against the enemy,
We probably outnumber them about one to three.
Three of us and one of them.
The only way they’ll succeed is over our dead bodies
But Canada’s a vast country
The only way we can defend this expansive property,
The second longest border in the world,
Is by building a wall of China
Or a Mexican fence,
So how about we use our numbers,
To just make peace with our neighbors
Like Moses and Jesus told us.
Love thy enemy, love thy neighbor as thyself
This animosity has been going on since eternity
Survival of the fittest ape and humanity ~psp

Spring plant sale
The beginning of spring
Varieties of leaves wave on
O, me, what will happen to me?
Sea of leafy green from wall to wall,
Garden growers call, and lost mariners stall,
Looking for land on which to refuge from it all
I quickly find the magazines, to help make sense,
Of this, “Look it up on your phone, if you don’t know
What plant it be,” comes the green thumb advice to me,
I don’t use cellphones, I defiantly said; It may have fallen
On deaf ears, Oh, well. I prefer natural communication
“Everything 50 % off!” shout the market shipmates,
And garden hoes marching about this makeshift
Vessel. “Early comers pay full prices, but
Latecomers pay half!” for the dregs
(That’s good, I guess…)
I find a pile of magazines to cling to
Digging through the colorful pics,
For my art, of tangled gardens
I consider them works of art
And the hands that made them, impressionist art
Androgynous green swims through my head
Once there was a Garden in a Cosmic Sea,
Now they sell flowers to plant in the trees
“One dollar each, but they’re now 50 cents”
Do you take credit? – “Sorry, cash only.”
Comes the answer – Well then,
It looks like it’s not my lucky day!
A space in time where two worlds meet.
I leave empty handed but filled with
Inspiration and remorse
A mental picture
Of what lies ahead
Have a wonderful summer
May your gardens all flourish! ~psp

" 'Man and Woman are connected by an invisible red thread.'

This legend is rooted in Japanese culture and beliefs and symbolizes fate and the power of bonding. The red thread represents the idea that you are fatefully connected to the person you are meant to meet. It is also a soothing lullaby that allows you to accept whatever reality you are faced with as a fate you cannot go against."

Katsu Nakajima  -  "Red String" via

Attraction is the motivation.

Augustine’s conception of love as “a kind of craving” — the Latin appetitus, from which the word appetite is derived — and his assertion that “to love is indeed nothing else than to crave something for its own sake,” Arendt is propelling love. amor mundi — “love of the world”. The ancient Greeks, in their pioneering effort to order the chaos of the cosmos, neatly taxonomized them into filial love (the kind we feel for siblings, children, parents, and friends), eros (the love of lovers), and agape (the deepest, purest, most impersonal and spiritual love). Inseparable from the deepest wellspring of love: the personal, self-love, the mirror from love of other.

When we consider the great wisdom of antiquity and how much Homer excelled in intellectual prudence, and in an accurate knowledge of every virtue, it must not be denied that he has obscurely indicated the images of things of a more divine nature in the fiction of a fable. It would be absurd for Homer to expect, that in describing a cave fabricated merely by poetical license and thus artificially opening a path to Gods and men in the region of Ithaca, he should gain the belief of mankind. And it is equally absurd to suppose, that nature herself should point out, in this place, one path for the descent of all mankind, and again another path for all the Gods. For, indeed, the whole world is full of Gods and men; but it is impossible to be persuaded, that in the Ithacensian cave men descend, and Gods ascend. Cronius therefore, having premised this much, says, that it is evident, not only to the wise but also to the vulgar, that the poet, under the veil of allegory, conceals some mysterious signification; thus compelling others to explore what the gate of men is and also what is the gate of the Gods. The Pythagoreans. and after them Plato, showed that the world is a cavern and a den. For the powers which are the leaders of souls, thus speak in a verse of Empedocles: “Now at this secret cavern we’re arrived.”

Plato's Allegory of the Cave stablediffusion

And by Plato, in the seventh book of his Republic, it is said, Behold men as if dwelling in a subterraneous cavern, and in a denlike habitation, whose entrance is widely expanded to the admission of the light through the whole cave.” But when the other person in the dialogue says: You adduce an unusual and wonderful similitude,” he replies, “The whole of this image, friend Glauco, must be adapted to what has been before said, assimilating this receptacle, which is visible through the sight to the habitation of a prison; but the light of the fire which is in it to the power of the sun.

“High at the head a branching olive grows
And crowns the pointed cliffs with shady boughs.
A cavern pleasant, though involved in night,
Beneath it lies, the Naiades delight:
Where bowls and urns of workmanship divine
And massy beams in native marble shine;
On which the Nymphs amazing webs display,
Of purple hue and exquisite array,
The busy bees within the urns secure
Honey delicious, and like nectar pure.
Perpetual waters through the grotto glide,
A lofty gate unfolds on either side;
That to the north is pervious to mankind:
The sacred south t’immortals is consign’d.”
